Deforestation in Anjouan is an important subject that affects the entire Anjouanese population.

It begins in 1960 (Anlaouddine ABOU professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology, specialist in ecology and environment) and intensifies over time. Deforestation is an act of deforestation that affects the constitutions of our environment or even affect it.

Deforestation methods cause water to dry up.

On the other hand, cutting down trees means depleting the world's storage of dioxide. The air is therefore reduced. The overexploitation of wood linked to the cutting of wood for energy accentuates deforestation, this overexploitation is due to excessive poverty.

The NGO DAHARI shows us that population growth and the increase in demand for firewood, lumber and agricultural land are responsible for deforestation in Anjouan, i.e 80% of the natural forest disappeared between 1995 and 2014.
